Natural Age Spot Erasers
Aging is that part of life that you will love and hate at the same time. You will love it because through the years, you will gain more information, have plenty of experience, know more about many things, and meet many people. On the other hand, you will hate it because you will physically weaken and your physical features will go with it (wrinkles, gray hair, poor eyesight, sagging skin, and age spots.)
Speaking of age spots, there are natural and safe methods of getting rid of it. However, first things first: Age spots are caused by melanocytes, a type of cells produced by the skin when it is exposed to the sun for a long period. These cells make a dark pigment known as melanin, and the one that gives the skin its dark complexion when exposed to the sun. However, there are instances that even in a normal day under the sun will trigger the production of melanocytes, which will bring forth the irregular pigmentation of the skin. These pigmentations are called solar lentigines, or simply, age spots. Brown, black, and gray are the usual colors of these skin problems. They usually appear in areas of the body that are always exposed to sunlight such as face, arms, hands, shoulders, neck, nape, back, and chest.

Here are the remedies to erase age spots with things found in your home:
- Sake, a Japanese rice wine is used as an age spot lightener. You just need to apply it to the affected area of the skin.
- Lemon juice is also used to lighten up the pigmentation. All you need to do is to get a piece of cotton and let a little lemon juice sip into the cotton. Afterwards, you can pat the cotton into the age spots two times a day.
- Papaya is also an ideal age spot eraser. You simply apply an ample amount of papaya to the age spot and let it rest for 20 minutes daily.
- Finally, you can avoid having age spots through these preventive methods. As the quote suggests, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
- Stay away from extreme sunlight (time of the day wherein the sun is in its most harmful: 10 AM up to 4 PM.)
- If you really need to walk out under the sun, you can wear clothes that can protect your skin against the sun’s rays (Example: long sleeved shirts, hats, caps, etc.)
- Apply sunscreen whenever you go out and re-apply it whenever you feel that you need protection from the sun.
